Geoquest USA, Inc. (formerly The Reinforced Earth Company) is recognized as the inventor and market leader of the MSE (Mechanically Stabilized Earth) retaining wall industry. The company provides the design and supply of materials of proprietary retaining wall systems and earth related technologies to contractors and owners for use in civil engineering. We work as a sub‑contractor/material supplier on DOT and privately owned projects, handling sales, marketing, civil engineering/design, supply, and construction support.

The successful Civil Design Engineer should hold a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering with coursework in geotechnical, structural, or transportation studies. Working knowledge of route surveying data, bridge plans and details is desired. Experience with AutoCAD and successful completion of the Fundamental of Engineering Exam (FE) is highly desired.

Job Requirements

Utilize predetermined methods to perform the structural design and analysis of various products.

Develop horizontal and vertical geometric layout using owner‑supplied information.

Create details necessary for design plans and shop drawings.

Provide quality control of all design and drafting work associated with assigned projects.

Input wall drawing program and draft wall elevation views and details for bid and final projects.

Use quantity extract program and other facilities to prepare and/or review material takeoffs.

Perform additional responsibilities in administration, training, technical standards and design tools, product packages, and standardization.

Education / Skills / Experience

Minimum B.S. in Civil, Structural or Geotechnical Engineering from an accredited institution.

Clear understanding of civil engineering design applied by Geoquest USA, Inc.

Proficient in AutoCAD.

Understanding of responsibilities associated with Draftsman and Designer positions.

Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to follow instructions and take initiative within predetermined guidelines.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to coordinate with other personnel in various departments and communicate with external technical and construction personnel.

Ability to comprehend and apply civil engineering principles to products designed by Geoquest USA, Inc.

Education
Required: Bachelor’s or better in Civil Engineering or related field.

Preferred: Associate’s or better in Engineering Technology or related field; Bachelor’s or better in Structural Engineering.

Experience
Preferred: 4 years of equivalent experience.
