
Medical Assistant/Admit Worker - GHEI Dermatology - F/T Days

Position Summary
Incumbent works in conjunction with physicians in patient rooms to perform non-licensed medical care in an assigned outpatient clinical setting. Performs clerical functions associated with the operations of a clinical office as necessary.
Required Qualifications
Understanding of medical terminology
Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
Medical Assistant Diploma or Certificate of Competency/Recognition in Medical Assisting Clinical/Back Office
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to work well in a constantly changing environment
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Ability to communicate effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting
Phlebotomy certification
Outpatient experience
Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
Flexibility to work variable shifts, including occasional weekends or holidays
Experience in an Ophthalmology practice
Bilingual skills in English and Spanish and/or Vietnamese
Licenses and Certifications
Basic Life Support
Education
Medical Assistant Diploma or equivalent certificate.
