About the Department

Our Respiratory Therapy Department provides comprehensive care in a community hospital setting with daily patient volumes ranging from 70-110 patients. Respiratory therapists work collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff, and other clinical professionals to deliver high‑quality respiratory care across multiple patient populations.
The department supports a 12‑bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and a Level II Nursery, offering therapists the opportunity to manage both critically ill adult patients and neonatal populations. Our therapists are actively involved in advanced respiratory care including mechanical ventilation management, non‑invasive ventilation, airway management, and emergency response.
Respiratory therapists gain hands‑on experience with modern respiratory equipment, including Servo-i Ventilator mechanical ventilators and Philips V60 Ventilator systems for non‑invasive ventilation. The department also provides experience with specialized therapies such as nitric oxide delivery using the NoxBox Nitric Oxide Delivery System.
Therapists play an active role in a variety of advanced bedside procedures, including:
Assisting with endotracheal intubation
Participating in bedside bronchoscopy procedures
Managing mechanical and non‑invasive ventilation
Administering aerosolized medications and airway clearance therapies
Providing neonatal respiratory support
Our department offers a supportive environment where respiratory therapists develop a broad skill set and maintain a high level of clinical involvement in critical care and procedural support.
