Overview
PharMerica is hiring a part‑time Pharmacist in Cambridge, MD. PharMerica is a non‑retail pharmacy that focuses on providing exceptional customer service and meeting the pharmacy needs for hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, long‑term acute care centers, and other specialized care centers nationwide.
Schedule
Monday‑Friday 5:00pm‑7:00pm; Weekends 9:00am‑1:00pm.
Responsibilities
Evaluates physician medication orders for appropriateness, dosage, potential interactions, and route of administration. Makes recommendations for therapy changes to physicians and facility staff.
Maintains patient/resident database to include current and past medical history, clinical and laboratory data, and concurrent medication.
Ensures that appropriate laboratory tests for monitoring high‑risk conditions are ordered, evaluated, and discussed with the healthcare team.
Collaborates with the healthcare team to provide clinical and technical support as needed.
Documents all communication with physicians, nurses, other team members, and patients/residents and their families in the medical record.
Implements policies and procedures for the safe procurement, storage, distribution and use of drugs and biologicals, and for disposal of drugs.
Obtains and maintains all required documentation in accordance with federal and state regulatory agencies and policy.
Informs the Pharmacy Manager of medication‑related errors.
Assists facility/agency staff with procedures relating to safe and effective drug procurement, maintenance, administration and disposal.
Performs other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy; Pharm D preferred.
One year experience in long‑term care.
Licenses/Certifications as required by government regulations and business needs.
Detail oriented; goal oriented; team player; strong oral communication.
Salary Range
USD $60.00 – $62.50 per hour.
