Have no major current or pending disciplinary sanction
Attend all training and mandatory events or assigned functions and be constant in attendance and responsible.

Provide help as needed for program development within the department

Public speaking

Position Summary
Will work 3–20 hours a week. Orientation Leaders exemplify the Lobo Experience and act as a guide and mentor to incoming Sul Ross students. They assist the Office of New Student Programs with program development and event planning, including NSO and other orientation and retention related activities, to support students’ academic wellbeing.
Primary Responsibilities
Assist with planning, coordinating, and implementing new student events and activities, including Orientation, Homecoming, and Family Day
Support event logistics such as setup, registration, check‑in, and on‑site support
Represent and exemplify the Lobo Experience to incoming students and families
Serve as a guide and mentor during New Student Orientation (NSO) and beyond
Assist the Office of New Student Programs with planning and implementing orientation and retention programs
Lead campus tours, icebreakers, and community‑building activities
Introduce students to academic departments and campus resources
Answer questions and address concerns in a professional and supportive manner
Attend required trainings and regular team meetings
Support event logistics and help coordinate orientation‑related activities
