Responsibilities
The Senior Attorney will work in the Economic Regulation Section of the Office of General Counsel. This Section handles legal work for the Commission concerning ratemaking, certification, and territorial issues in the water, wastewater, electric, and gas industries. The Senior Attorney will appear primarily before the Florida Public Service Commission. Responsibilities include:
Legal research and application of research to issues;
Conduct investigations and discovery; present evidence; advocate positions at hearings (oral and written);
Communicate effectively verbally and in writing;
Work collaboratively on a team.
Applicants must have a strong working knowledge of the Florida Administrative Procedure Act, the Uniform Rules of Procedure, Florida Civil Procedure, and the Florida Evidence Code.
Minimum qualifications
Admission to The Florida Bar and two years of professional experience in the practice of law, legal research, teaching law, or in administrative or judicial meetings.
