Position Overview
Caldwell is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support our growing litigation practice. This role
requires
hands-on experience in both state and federal court litigation. Experience in intellectual property litigation, particularly patent litigation, and corporate litigation, is preferred.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of independently managing complex litigation tasks while collaborating closely with attorneys, clients, and external vendors.
Key Responsibilities
Litigation Support:
Support all phases of intellectual property litigation, including patent, trade secret, and related IP disputes, from pre-suit investigation through trial and post-trial proceedings.
Business / Corporate Litigation Support:
Provide paralegal support on complex commercial, corporate, or business litigation matters as needed, such as securities and shareholder litigation, M&A litigation, and business torts.
Document & Case File Management:
Maintain electronic and physical case files to ensure efficient access to litigation materials and institutional knowledge.
Discovery & Evidence Management:
Coordinate and manage discovery, including document collection, production, and privilege logs; assist with ESI processes and work with e-discovery vendors.
Trial & Hearing Preparation:
Assist attorneys with deposition and hearing preparation.
Docketing & Deadline Management:
Track and manage litigation deadlines, court orders, and procedural requirements, ensuring compliance with court rules and scheduling orders.
Attorney & Client Coordination:
Serve as a liaison between attorneys, clients, experts, and third-party vendors; assist with case status updates and litigation-related communications.
Qualifications
Required
Minimum of 5 + years of experience as a litigation paralegal
Bachelor’s degree; or paralegal certificate; or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
Strong knowledge of federal and state court procedures and litigation rules
Experience managing discovery, filings, and trial preparation in complex litigation matters
Experience with e-discovery platforms and litigation support software
Experience with trial and pre-trial preparation
Paralegal certificate or equivalent professional experience
Highly Preferred
Experience supporting
intellectual property and complex commercial litigation
