Pay Range:
$18.00 - $23.00/HR
Full‑Time Permanent Position with Benefits
Seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join a manufacturing firm in the Cleveland area. You will be part of a team that is a critical supplier to the Military and Aerospace Industries. In this role, you will utilize traditional machining craftsmanship to produce high‑precision components using alloy, stainless, and nickel steels. This is an ideal position for a hands‑on machinist who takes pride in precision work within an ISO, AS, and PED‑certified environment.
Key Responsibilities
Precision Machining: Set up and operate manual machines, including Landis, Lee, Branders, and Hes, to produce high‑quality parts.
Tooling & Setup: Grind chasers and cutters; perform critical machine setups and routine preventative maintenance.
Quality & Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical malfunctions and troubleshoot issues in real‑time; report complex problems to the Lead Man.
Operational Continuity: Document production data and communicate shift‑to‑shift irregularities to ensure seamless workflow.
Team Collaboration: Partner with shop floor personnel to meet production deadlines while adhering to strict quality standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience: Prior experience operating Manual Engine Lathes and Landis Cut Thread machines (or a strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to be trained).
Technical Literacy: Ability to interpret complex mechanical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications.
Precision Measurement: Mastery of shop math and proficient use of:
Micrometers & Calipers
Depth Gauges & Tape Measures
Professionalism: A self‑motivated team player who thrives in a fast‑paced shop and values constructive feedback.
Physical Stamina: Ability to maintain dexterity and mobility in a high‑activity manufacturing environment.
