
Sr Mfg Engineering Technician- 1st Shift

As a Sr. Mfg. Engineer Technician at Honeywell, you will support manufacturing engineering activities within the Integrated Supply Chain. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient production processes, troubleshoot manufacturing issues, and implement continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality and operational efficiency. You will report directly to the Senior Quality Control Supervisor and work out of our South Bend, IN location on an on‑site schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Support the NDT scope of work on legacy and emerging platforms, including engineering evaluation, defect analysis, and nondestructive testing (NDT) analysis.
Prepare, revise, review, and approve Non‑destructive technique sheets and evaluation of supplier techniques and procedures.
Prepare and review engineering specifications; develop and implement new equipment and technology.
Design and evaluate inspection reference standards; provide technical support to manufacturing, engineering, programs, field personnel, and suppliers.
Audit the NDT inspection facility and assist in the development of NDT training course material for Levels 1 and 2.
Test and certify NDT Level 1s and 2s in accordance with NAS410 and company requirements (HA NDE-001).
Analyze production processes and identify areas for improvement.
Collaborate with supply‑chain and production teams to implement process improvements and optimize workflow.
Perform First Article Inspections.
Serve as the Site Level 3 / SCA and maintain the site NDT certification program.
Perform and maintain Level III SCA requirements, internal audits, and facilitate external/internal network NDT audits.
Qualifications
Hold a NAS‑410 Level 3 certification in Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (PT).
5 years of experience as a NAS‑410 certified inspector in the aerospace industry, with at least 3 of those years as a Level 3 inspector.
Experience with Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) method and equipment.
Experience with NDT of castings and weldments.
Familiarity with industry NDT standards (AMS, ASTM, etc.).
Familiarity with AS9100 and NADCAP audit requirements for NDT and QMS.
