Part‑time Faculty office hours are paid at a flat rate of $30 per hour.

Scope of Assignment
The successful candidate will create curriculum responsive to student needs, increase student completion through the accelerated learning model, and implement strategies geared to increase student equity.
Minimum Qualifications
Any bachelor’s degree and two years of professional experience, or any associate degree and six years of professional experience.
At least one year consecutive, full‑time or its equivalent experience in the designated nursing area within the previous five years as a registered nurse providing direct patient care.
Recent experience may include teaching in the area of nursing.
Knowledge of and ability to appraise the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Sensitivity to the needs, problems and challenges associated with the diversity of the community college student population.
Physical and Mental Standards
Mobility: ability to sit or stand for long periods, move about an office, and reach above and below desk level.
Dexterity: fine manipulation sufficient to operate a keyboard, handle papers, write and take notes.
Lifting: occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
Visual: close vision sufficient to read files, documents, and computer screens.
Hearing/Talking: ability to hear normal speech, speak and hear on the telephone, and speak in person.
Emotional: ability to make decisions and concentrate; frequent contact with others including some public contact; frequent deadlines and time‑limited assignments.

Competence in new pedagogies such as accelerated learning, supplemental instruction, online or hybrid teaching.
Experience working with minoritized students and understanding systemic exclusions.
Willingness to examine and remediate instructional practices to engage racially minoritized students.
Experience addressing equity in the classroom.
Culturally responsive teaching in nursing.
Demonstrated ability to address equity gaps in coursework and classroom.
Knowledge of Hispanic‑Serving designation practices.
Responsibilities
Teach lower‑division clinical nursing.
Implement program philosophy, objectives, policies and curriculum.
Supervise student practice of new skills.
Assist students with remedial skills practice and communicate progress to faculty team.
Serve as skills evaluator.
Maintain comprehensive records for students in the clinical setting (evaluations, grade book, clinical grids, competency testing, clearance records, attendance, training records, semester checklists).
Coordinate scheduling of pre‑ and post‑conference meetings.
Provide orientation of students in hospital setting.
Assist with program‑related activities.
Advance equitable student learning through dedicated instruction.
Inform students of course requirements, evaluation procedures and attendance requirements.
Prepare and grade class assignments and examinations, and inform students of academic progress.
Maintain attendance and other records, submitting them according to policy deadlines.
Attend department, division and college‑wide meetings.
Hold sufficient and regular office hours.
Develop, implement, and assess student‑learning outcomes for courses and programs; use results for improvement.
Engage in data inquiry and self‑assessment to develop strategies for student success, persistence and equity.
Participate in professional development activities connected to closing impact gaps and improving completion goals.
Maintain current knowledge in subject area and effective teaching/learning strategies.
Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
Perform other duties as assigned.
