Physician - Psychiatry Moonlighting (Weekday Only)

Job Overview
Fairview is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Psychiatrist to join our team in a moonlighting role at the brand-new, 144-bed behavioral health hospital in Capitol Park, St. Paul, Minnesota. This opportunity offers flexible scheduling, competitive hourly compensation, and the chance to work with a dedicated team committed to providing exceptional mental health care.
Practice Details
Setting: Inpatient Psychiatry
Shift Structure: 8‑hour moonlighting shifts at $200/hr with optional 16‑hour off‑premise call slots at $45/hr. Minimum commitment of 2‑3 shifts per month.
Call Coverage: Includes daytime call coverage and overnight/remote call, integrated into the hospital’s built‑in coverage model.
Responsibilities: Conduct psychiatric evaluations and manage treatment plans for patients with mental health and substance‑related disorders; prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications; collaborate on treatment decisions with other care providers; participate in crisis stabilization and coordinate care transitions; complete timely and accurate documentation, including coding and billing; adhere to medical staff bylaws and maintain compliance with organizational policies and standards.
Onboarding & Support
Access to EHR training in WellSky.
Behavioral health team orientation.
Supportive credentialing timeline and structured reporting.
Ongoing collaboration with multidisciplinary care teams.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Psychiatry Residency Program (required).
Fellowship training in Addiction, Geriatric, or Consultation‑Liaison Psychiatry preferred.
Board Certified/Eligible in Psychiatry (ABMS or AOA).
Current Minnesota Medical License (MD/DO) and BLS certification.
