School Based Therapist, LSW or LPC

National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP), Newark, OH, United States


Compensation:

(12 month contract) $60,511-$63,000 – 10 month contract available too! School‑Based Therapists with the National Youth Advocate Program will provide mental and behavioral health assessments, develop treatment plans, facilitate individual and/or group counseling to students, and provide case management services. When school is not in session during extended breaks and summer months, you will maintain your caseload and continue to provide services by meeting with students in the community. An element of office‑based therapy will also be involved.

Responsibilities

Provides appropriate individual, group, and family mental health therapy, case management, and other professional services.

Coordinate and monitor services for youth and families, including mental health, medical, educational, psychological, vocational, and social services.

Regularly review and modify youth‑based plans to ensure consistent progress toward written goal outcomes.

Travel daily during summers and extended breaks to provide community‑based services in compliance with organizational, contract, and regulatory requirements.

Establish and maintain strong relationships with parents (including foster families), teachers, administrators, and other school staff.

Provide safety assessment, crisis response, and behavioral stabilization services as needed to ensure safety and stability for youth served.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s level education required in Human Services or Social Work.

LSW or LPC required.

At least one year of master’s‑level internship or work experience providing therapy services.

Ability to provide mental health assessments.

Experience developing treatment plans.

Knowledge of case management services.

Develop and facilitate individual and/or group counseling to students in the program.

Maintain your caseload and continue to provide services to students during extended breaks and summer.

Comfortable providing services in the community and in client homes.

Flexibility and responsiveness to youth, families, teachers, and administrators.

Good computer and technology skills.

Willingness to accept other job duties as assigned.
