Job Description
We love what we do—providing high‑quality care and an exceptional patient experience. This is an exciting opportunity for a full‑time Speech Language Pathologist to join our dynamic 20‑member Rehabilitation staff, which includes Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Cardiac Rehabilitation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing diagnostic, evaluative, and treatment services to clients with speech, language, voice, or swallowing problems both in our new inpatient hospital unit and in adult and pediatric outpatient clinics. Caseload will be adult with opportunity for growth, and 70‑75% outpatient pediatrics. Inpatient weekend rotation and holiday coverage will occur approximately every 3‑4 weeks. Applicants must have a Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program, a current license as a Speech Language Pathologist from the State of Minnesota, video‑fluorographic swallow study experience, and VitalStim and Parkinson’s Big and Loud certification are preferred.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Provide speech/language evaluation, treatment planning, and treatment implementation to clients of all ages; address individual developmental, cognitive, and physical needs, as well as cultural differences.

Coordinate client care with other disciplines through good communication and intervention recommendations.

Provide education, information, and training to clients, family, caregivers, and community to promote continuity of care, optimum therapeutic outcome, and community health.

Maintain documentation and records of treatment performance to assure quality client care, meet regulatory and professional standards, and receive optimal reimbursement.

Act as a consultant to internal and external customers.

Maintain education, knowledge, and training required to provide up‑to‑date, quality care to meet client caseload and community needs and meet minimum national and state licensure requirements.

Oversee Speech/Language students and volunteers.

Participate in quality improvement and peer review to assure effective and efficient services.

Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Education, Training or Degree Required

Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology.

License/Registration/Certification Required

Current license as a Speech Language Pathologist from the State of Minnesota.

Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology granted by the American Speech‑Language Hearing Association, or meet the educational requirements for certification and be able to accumulate the supervised experience required for certification.

BLS certification (if not current, within 30 days of start date).

Experience and Skills

Previous work experience as a Speech Language Pathologist is desirable but not required.
