Paramedic PRN Nights
St. Mark's Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking an experienced Paramedic to provide night shift PRN support.
Job Summary
As a Paramedic on the team you will provide emergency medical care, support physicians during procedures, and coordinate with EMS and in‑hospital staff to ensure continuity of care.
Responsibilities
You will maintain clear communication with the attending physician and licensed nurse assigned to the patient about all patient care issues.
You will assist with patient examinations or treatments and observe and report patients’ signs or symptoms.
You will take vital signs and record patient input and output.
You will attach oxygen and cardiac monitors, monitor patient cardiac rhythm, perform 12‑lead EKG, document EKG strips, suction patient airways as directed, and report findings to physician and care team assigned to the patient.
You will receive patients from EMS personnel and prepare patients for the physician’s care.
You will collect routine laboratory specimens as directed by the physician and perform basic laboratory procedures.
You will assist emergency department physicians with patient examinations and treatments including central line insertions, lumbar punctures, defibrillation, cardioversion, chest tube insertion, thoracentesis, arterial lines, suturing, needle chest decompressions, endotracheal and nasotracheal intubation, insertion of intraosseous lines, endotracheal suctioning, inserting Foley catheters, and securing airways through insertion of oral
asal airway devices.
You will perform CPR, defibrillation, cardioversion, and transcutaneous pacing during emergencies.
Qualifications
Certified/Licensed paramedic in good standing with the Utah State Department of Health or equivalent, and currently registered with the National Registry of EMTs.
BLS or BCLS certification and TNCC required.
ACLS and PALS certification required.
3–4 years of experience working as a certified/licensed paramedic for a fire or EMS agency.
