SUMMARY
Performs duties described in the Service Contract Act Service Order ELECTRICIAN, MAINTENANCE. May perform duties of other classifications that have a pay rate equal to or lower than the employee's current rate.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy. Tasks include:
Installing or repairing electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment.
Working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.
Locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment.
Performing standard computations related to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
Using a variety of electrician’s hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.
Maintaining rounded training and experience typically acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of an Electrician Apprenticeship.
Experience
At least two years of journeyman level experience in the trade.
Proficiency with tools and testing instruments common to the trade.
Certificate / License / Registration
Duval County or other Florida County Journeyman Electrician License.
Valid Driver’s License.
