American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a 13‑week assignment in the Intermediate Care (IMC)/Stepdown unit at a Level I Trauma, Magnet‑designated acute care hospital in Springfield, IL.

Patient population: telemetry, neuro stepdown, PCU/DOU, and general stepdown
Skillset: cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration, procedural sedation, ventilator care
Additional clinical scope: post‑cardiac cath/surgery, pre/post hemodialysis, craniotomy, CVA, TBI, spinal cord injury, orthopedic trauma, total joint replacements, respiratory management (tracheostomy, chest tubes, HFNC, BiPAP)
Charting: Cerner
Every other weekend required. No on‑call responsibilities.
Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital is required.
Qualifications
Active IL RN license at time of consideration.
Current BLS (AHA or Red Cross) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications. RQI AHA cards not accepted.
ACLS preferred.
Minimum 1 year of RN experience in telemetry, neuro stepdown, PCU/DOU/IMC, or stepdown settings.
Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, IV therapy, central/arterial/PICC line management, blood product administration, heparin protocols, and wound care.
Cerner experience preferred.
Teaching hospital experience preferred.
Level I Trauma experience preferred.
SSN and DOB required for consideration.
Additional Information
First‑time travelers are not accepted.
Current or former permanent or PRN employees of the Memorial Hospital System must have been away for at least 12 months before applying.
Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays.
RTO of up to 5 non‑holiday days is generally accommodated; requests beyond 5 days require facility approval.
Travel pairs are not accepted.
Scrub color: any solid color.
Free parking available with orientation‑obtained permit.
Local candidates accepted with no radius restriction.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
