Job Description
The Water Recycling Operator is responsible for supporting field-based operations related to water handling, recycling, and associated production equipment. This role focuses on monitoring and maintaining tank batteries, separation equipment, and chemical injection systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This is a hands‑on field position requiring both mechanical aptitude and process understanding. Candidates must be physically and mentally prepared to work in outdoor environments and capable of managing operational responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
Operate and monitor water recycling systems and associated field equipment
Manage tank batteries, gun barrels, and chemical injection systems
Inspect and troubleshoot process equipment to ensure proper functionality
Perform routine maintenance and assist with repairs on mechanical systems
Monitor process conditions and make adjustments to maintain operational efficiencyIdentify and respond to abnormal operating conditions and accelerate escalation as needed
Support safe work practices and adhere to all environmental and safety standards
Collect and record operational data, ensuring accuracy and completeness
Coordinate with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to optimize performance
Assist with startup, shutdown, and ongoing operation of field facilities
Participate in on‑call rotation and respond to operational needs or emergencies
Work across field locations as required
Skills And Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of relevant field experience in oil & gas, water handling, or similar industrial environments
Strong mechanical aptitude with experience working on process equipment
Experience with:
Saltwater disposal (SWD) systems (highly valued)
Tank batteries and separation equipment
Chemical injection systems
Understanding of process operations and flow systems within oil & gas or industrial environments
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues in the field
Basic understanding of process engineering concepts (preferred)
Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a field setting
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting
Ability to meet physical demands including lifting, climbing, and working outdoors
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field
Background in:
Process engineering or industrial operations
Manufacturing or chemical/refinery environments
Industrial engineering or process optimization
Prior military experience
Previous experience with large‑scale operators or similar organizations
Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) experience
Industrial safety training or experience
Work Schedule & Conditions
Initial schedule: 5 days on / 2 days off (day shift) during training
Transition to rotating schedule:
2 day shift roles
1 night shift role (assigned after training)
On‑call rotation required initially (expected to transition to structured rotation)
Field‑based position requiring work in outdoor environments
Candidates must be willing to work extended hours and respond to call‑outs as needed
Location
Field-based role in a major oil & gas operating region
Candidates outside the area must be able to secure temporary housing during work periods
