Position Overview
As a Water Intern, you will collaborate with licensed engineers and project managers on Water Business Group projects focused on safe drinking water, wastewater treatment, flood control, and infrastructure resilience. This part‑time role involves on‑site work for up to 20 hours per week, mentorship from engineers, and hands‑on application of standard engineering techniques. The internship is located in Irvine or San Diego, California.
Responsibilities
Gain real‑world experience on water engineering projects.
Participate in project assignments under the direct supervision of a professional engineer or project manager.
Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures.
Connect with recent graduates and senior leaders through mentoring and young professional programs.
Perform additional duties as needed.
Commit to up to 20 hours of work per week on site.
Preferred Qualifications
2 years completed toward a degree with a 3.0+ GPA.
Knowledge of software packages relevant to civil or environmental engineering.
Enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related program.
Experience with CAD and Microsoft Project.
Local candidate to Irvine or San Diego.
Required Qualifications
Enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate engineering program.
Attention to detail.
Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
Basic Microsoft Office skills.
Commitment to participation in employee‑owned culture.
Compensation & Benefits
The expected compensation range for this position is $22–$26 per hour, dependent on skills, experience, education, and geographic location. This temporary, part‑time internship offers limited benefits, and remote work is not available.
