Job Description
Qualified Riggers are asked to set up and repair rigging for the movement of heavy equipment. As a Rigger, you will be required to prepare the materials before loading, set up the rigging equipment, operate heavy equipment machinery, and dismantle the rigging after the job. You will also be required to communicate with the rigging team and ensure compliance with state health and safety regulations.
Responsibilities
Inspect and prepare loads that need to be moved.
Set, align, and level heavy equipment machinery.
Select appropriate rigging gear.
Prepare rigging equipment including beams, pulleys, clamps, and bolts.
Inspect rigging before final use.
Monitor and maintain rigging equipment.
Maneuver loads using heavy equipment machinery and by hand.
Ensure compliance with state and company safety procedures.
Communicate with the rigging and construction team.
Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety of workers and materials.
Break down rigging equipment and conduct post-rigging inspections.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Familiarity with OSHA safety standards.
In-depth knowledge of rigging equipment and heavy machinery.
Excellent hearing and vision.
Ability to work at heights and in noisy environments.
High‑level mathematical skills.
Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy equipment.
Ability to work outdoors in harsh weather conditions.
5+ years experience working as a Rigger.
Minimum Level 1 NCCCR certification.
NCCCR Signal person SGP.
NCCCR Rigger 1 (RIG‑1).
NCCCR Rigger 2 (RIG‑2).
Pay Range
USD $27.25 – $39.64 per hour.

Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Ability to relocate a 12‑foot stepladder without assistance.
Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.
Can walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and reach overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
Possesses good vision (may be corrected) and hearing, and can communicate in English.
Can use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
Can tell when something is wrong or likely to go wrong; does not involve solving the problem but recognizing it.
Applies general rules to specific problems to produce reasonable answers.
Combines pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (finding relationships among seemingly unrelated events).
Can see details at close range (within a few feet).
Can listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
