Forming Tech II, Nutformer 1st Shift
is located in Fullerton, CA.
Responsibilities
Under the direction of a Forming Tech II, Forming Tech III, Lead, or Supervisor, the incumbent will operate and learn to set up various types of single and double die cold heading machines and/or multi‑station nut formers to produce parts consistent with print specifications.
Assists in set up and operates cold heading machines and/or nut formers.
Learns set up and operation of assigned machines.
Under direction, selects mounts and adjusts punches and die sets.
Assembles dies and punches using hydraulic press.
Sets machine speeds, feeds, and stops as directed.
Works from work orders, heading
utformer parts prints, and machine layouts.
Utilizes knowledge of metal flow capabilities to operate machines and produce parts consistent with print specifications.
Checks parts with standard gauges or precision instruments and submits parts for first article inspection as required.
Handles part lifts and transports that may weigh up to 30 lbs.
Uses micrometers, calipers, comparators, thread gauges, depth micrometers, and dial indicators as needed; reads blueprints.
Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area daily.
Performs other tasks of equal or lesser skill as required.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
Willingness to learn or existing knowledge of manufacturing and quality processes.
Prior machining experience.
Knowledge of measuring instruments and gauges.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Understanding of machine speeds and feeds (where applicable).
Legal authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not available.
Preferred Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Three or more years’ experience in set up operation with a fastener manufacturing company.
Problem‑solving skills at an advanced level.
Working knowledge of ferrous and non‑ferrous metals and their alloys.
Physical Demands
Use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
Frequently required to stand and sit.
Occasionally required to walk and talk or hear.
Frequently lifts and/or moves up to 30 pounds.
Specific vision abilities: close vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

The position includes competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance (medical, dental, vision), a 401(k) matching program, paid holidays and vacation.
