Who will you be working with
L&M Radiator, Inc. is a global designer, manufacturer, and distributor of MESABI cooling and heat transfer solutions that are custom‑made for heavy equipment in the mining, oil, gas, construction and heavy industrial industries. You will join the welding team and work daily with other welders and welding supervisors. You may also collaborate with production engineers, the production manager, and the paint and steel prep departments on shop‑related projects.

Job Description
As a member of the welding department, you will perform MIG and TIG production welding primarily on various mild and stainless steel, brass, and aluminum materials. The role includes training, mentoring, and working with both beginners and skilled welders.

Shift Schedule
This position rotates shifts every other week on days and afternoons. Day shift operates Monday through Friday 6:00 am – 2:00 pm. Afternoon shift operates Monday through Friday 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm. Overtime is possible depending on production needs.

What do we want to know about you?

18 years or older

High School diploma or GED with 1‑year related experience, or completion of a technical college welding course.

Blueprint reading skills.

What will your typical day look like?

Maintenance and operation of MIG and TIG welding machines.

Use of torches, grinders, drill presses, plasma torches, drills, and other shop equipment.

Correctly assemble and weld all oil cooler frames, radiator frames, sub‑assemblies, and listed radiator and oil cooler parts.

Collect parts for final assembly and prep for assembly.

Responsible for basic maintenance and care of equipment and tools.

Change gas bottles as required.

Assist in other areas of production as needed if qualified.

Perform work safely and follow all safety guidelines and procedures.

Domestic and international travel possible depending on the project.

Perform related work and other duties as directed by supervisor.

Physical Demands

Wear correct PPE (earplugs, protective eyewear, steel‑toed boots, work‑provided uniform, gloves when necessary).

Lift a minimum of 50 lb.

Stand on concrete for 8–10 hours.

Work in high heat conditions.

Maintain safe work conditions.

Entry‑Level Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Regular and reliable attendance.

Use measuring devices such as tape measure, calipers, and micrometers.

Follow instructions and read SPs.

Interact well with others.

Blueprint, assembly, and schematic reading.

Communicate in English effectively and clearly, both written and verbal.

Pass a pre‑employment written math test and hands‑weld test, physical, drug, and background test.

Preferred Qualifications

2‑year welding degree and 3 years of welding experience in a manufacturing setting.

Knowledge of Epicor or similar ERP system.

Experience in Lean Manufacturing.

Experience reading SolidWorks blueprints.

Benefits & Compensation
Hourly rate range: $21.00 – $35.50. Pay may vary based on training, skills, experience, education, business needs, market demands, and location. The role is eligible for a performance bonus.
