Roofer – Lab Facility Project - Torrey Pines
Job Description
This role supports a high-priority lab facility project by performing roofing labor on single-ply and metal roofing systems. You will work closely with the site superintendent and construction team to complete installation, rerouting, and related roofing tasks while maintaining strict adherence to safety standards and project protocols.
Responsibilities
Assist with roofing tasks on single-ply and metal roofing systems under the supervision of the site superintendent.
Support rerouting and installation work within a lab facility environment, ensuring all tasks meet project specifications.
Follow all safety regulations, site protocols, and established procedures at all times.
Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for roofing and general construction tasks.
Coordinate with the superintendent and other team members to ensure smooth workflow and project continuity.
Perform general labor duties related to roofing and construction as required.
Maintain accurate job number records and related documentation to support invoicing and project tracking.
Help keep the work area organized, clean, and free of hazards throughout the project.
Essential Skills
4–5 years of roofing experience in a construction environment.
Proficiency with single-ply roofing systems.
Proficiency with metal roofing systems.
Ability to follow strict safety protocols and site-specific procedures.
Proven punctuality and reliability in previous roles.
Ability to safely operate and maintain common hand tools.
Ability to safely operate and maintain power tools used in roofing and construction.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience working in lab facility environments.
Familiarity with rerouting tasks in specialized or sensitive facilities.
Previous experience supporting a site superintendent or construction leadership.
Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with field leadership and team members.
Attention to detail when recording job numbers and project documentation.
Demonstrated commitment to long‑term career growth in roofing and construction.
Work Environment
This position is based on an active construction job site within a lab facility setting. You will work primarily outdoors and on roofs, often at heights, and must be comfortable with varying weather conditions and typical construction site noise and activity. The role requires regular use of hand tools and power tools, along with adherence to strict safety standards and site‑specific protocols common in specialized lab environments. Work hours follow standard construction schedules as determined by project needs, and appropriate construction attire and personal protective equipment are required at all times.

This is a Contract position based out of San Diego, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $32.00/hr.
