Scope & Overview
Level 2 Compressor Station Operator responsible for the safe and efficient operation of natural gas compression equipment. This role supports continuous operations through monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining compressor station systems to ensure optimal runtime and reliability.
Tasks & Responsibilities
Operate and monitor natural gas compressors, dehydration units, and associated equipment
Adjust operating parameters to maintain optimal pressure, flow, and system efficiency
Conduct routine inspections and record equipment readings to identify irregularities
Perform minor maintenance and assist with repairs on compressors, engines, and auxiliary systems
Identify mechanical or process issues and elevate to maintenance personnel as needed
Assist in troubleshooting electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic control systems
Maintain accurate daily logs of operating data, maintenance activities, and safety checks
Report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, and operational deviations
Utilize digital systems for data entry, reporting, and operational tracking
Follow all company safety policies and procedures
Qualifications
Experience
2–5 years of experience in gas compression, oil & gas operations, or industrial maintenance
Familiarity with rotating equipment, instrumentation, and process controls
Education & Certifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Technical or vocational training preferred
OSHA 10/30, H2S Awareness, First Aid/CPR, or DOT OQ certifications are a plus
Skills & Competencies
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, schematics, and technical manuals
Experience with HMI systems and control room operations is a plus
Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
Computer proficiency for reporting and system use
Work Environment
Rotating shift work including weekends and holidays as needed
Outdoor work in varying weather conditions and remote locations
Frequent lifting (up to 50 lbs.), climbing, bending, and extended standing
Must be able to wear required PPE
