Overview

Revolution Medicines is a late-stage clinical oncology company developing novel targeted therapies for patients with RAS-addicted cancers. The company’s R&D pipeline comprises RAS(ON) inhibitors designed to suppress diverse oncogenic variants of RAS proteins. The company’s RAS(ON) inhibitors daraxonrasib (RMC-6236), a RAS(ON) multi-selective inhibitor; elironrasib (RMC-6291), a RAS(ON) G12C-selective inhibitor; zoldonrasib (RMC-9805), a RAS(ON) G12D-selective inhibitor; and RMC-5127, a RAS(ON) G12V-selective inhibitor, are currently in clinical development. As a new member of the Revolution Medicines team, you will join other outstanding professionals in a tireless commitment to patients with cancers harboring mutations in the RAS signaling pathway.

The Opportunity

The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Deputy General Counsel, this role will manage a growing legal contracts team that currently consists of five attorneys, and four contracts managers and chair the Company’s cross-functional Contracts Management Committee. The Executive Director, Head of Contracts will have responsibility for leading the development of the company’s global contracting process and strategy in coordination with regional leadership teams. The Executive Director, Head of Contracts is a leadership role and will be instrumental in the success of the company’s legal team in its support of RevMed’s growth and evolution.

Responsibilities

Set strategy and coordinate all aspects of global contracting at RevMed from initiation to execution, including cross-functional implementation and management of appropriate region or department-specific (e.g., clinical development, commercial) policies and procedures.

Manage, develop, and coach the legal contracts team in RevMed.

Serve as an escalation point for functional clients and leadership team members.

Chair the Company’s cross-functional Contracts Management Committee, and work with this team to drive selection of contract management technology platforms and tools to support contracting workflows, archiving, and use of AI to drive contracting performance efficiency.

Contribute as a leader to the success of the legal department through strategic planning, problem solving, project management and process improvement.

Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts for multiple RevMed functional areas, which depending on RevMed’s evolving business, may include clinical trial agreements, CRO agreements, supply agreements, NDAs, consulting agreements, master services agreements, statements of work sponsored research agreements and MTAs.

Function as point of contact for multiple client groups, leveraging internal and external resources to timely and cost-effectively meet the legal needs of the client groups.

Advise RevMed’s business units on compliance with the terms of active contracts, with the ability to interpret and discuss complex legal concepts in a pragmatic way that results in actionable business advice.

Maintain and encourage a growth mindset that enables success in a rapidly evolving organization. Implement and maintain systems to enhance transparency of contract processes and enable continuous improvement.

Identify, engage, and manage outside counsel on contract matters.

Required Skills, Experience and Education

Experience drafting and negotiating contracts, including the ability to distinguish between material versus non-material legal and business issues and communicate regarding these issues effectively.

JD degree with 15+ years of transactional legal experience, including a combination of in-house and law firm experience.

Excellent team management skills, with demonstrated ability to oversee a team of contracts professionals in an organized, efficient and effective manner.

Excellent project management skills, with demonstrated ability to oversee complex projects and lead to successful completion in an organized, efficient, and effective manner.

Experience managing contracts processes and policies and using contracts lifecycle management tools.

Current member in good standing of a U.S. State Bar.

Preferred Skills

Deep clinical development-related contracting and operations experience is a plus.

The base pay salary range for this full-time position for candidates working onsite at our headquarters in Redwood City, CA is listed below. Our base pay salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual base pay salary is determined by multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, market dynamics, and relevant education or training.

Base Pay Salary Range
$311,000 - $357,000 USD
