Overview
The University of Virginia Department of Pediatrics and Division of Genetics invite applications for a non-tenure eligible clinical faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. Our team includes three geneticists, seven genetic counselors, and two metabolic dietitians. We seek to add a fourth geneticist who is interested in caring for individuals with inborn errors of metabolism.
Responsibilities
Staff general genetic and metabolic clinics in Charlottesville.
Provide monthly/bi-monthly satellite clinics in Winchester, Lynchburg, and Bristol.
Share coverage of the inpatient consultation service.
Respond in a timely manner to triage of newborn screening cases.
Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary staff of genetic counselors, dietitians, genetic counseling assistants, and administrative assistants.
Qualifications
Open to individuals with MD or DO degrees; eligible for appointment to the University of Virginia faculty.
Board-certified or eligible in clinical genetics; expected to contribute to clinical service in that subspecialty.
Preference for candidates with genetics board certification or eligibility.
An active research interest is desirable but not required.
