Summary
Manages the comprehensive medical nutritional care of patients which includes providing nutrition assessment, development of nutrition care plans, diet modification, nutrition education, and all activities involved in the nutritional needs of the patient population.

Essential Functions

Develops and implements nutrition plan of care based on assessment of needs, physician orders, clinical data, interdisciplinary plans, and quality standards appropriate for age, psychosocial, and physical needs.

Documents all nutrition-related information: assessment, therapy recommendations, care plan, follow-up data, changes, diet consultation results, discharge planning, daily clinical activities, and other relevant orders.

Provides counseling, education, and develops resources and materials for patient and family education on prescribed therapeutic diets.

Partners with food service staff to ensure meals, supplements, and nutrition support are provided; reviews patients' menu selections to monitor compliance with modified diets.

Education
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Dietetics required.

Licenses and Credentials

State License as Dietitian and Nutritionist preferred.

Heartsaver CPR AED Certification preferred.

Registered Dietitian (RD) preferred.

Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) preferred.

Experience
Completed Internship required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to work independently.

Ability to guide, teach, and motivate all patient age populations.
