Territory
Dayton, OH and surrounding areas.
Locations
Ideal candidate lives in Dayton or Springfield, OH.
Work Arrangement
Work from home with day travel to policy locations 3-4 days a week; occasional overnight travel; may support desk adjuster capacity; relocation assistance available for those more than 50 miles from the territory.
Qualifications
3-5 years of insurance field/property claims handling or adjusting experience
Solid experience/proficiency with Xactimate
Solid experience writing own estimates and handling claims start to finish
Construction background/experience – residential, roofing, remodeling, water mitigation
Strong customer service competency
Strong written & verbal communication skills
Cat Duty
CAT duty is a requirement of this role.

Key Responsibilities
Handles all assigned claims promptly and effectively with little direction.
Determines proper policy coverages and applies appropriate claims practices.
Opens, closes, and adjusts reserves according to company practices.
Maintains current knowledge of insurance, applicable products, guidelines, and policy changes.
Maintains knowledge of local repair procedures and market pricing.
Submits severe incident reports, reinsurance reports and other information as needed.
Partners with Investigation and Subrogation units to identify fraud and subrogation opportunities.
Initiates and conducts follow‑ups using claims systems.
Delivers outstanding customer service experience to all internal, external customers.
Reporting Relationships
Reports to Claims Manager. Individual contributor role.
Education
Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
Licenses & Certifications
State licensing where required. Must obtain Xactimate Level 1 within a year and Level 2 within two years.
Experience
Three to five years of related property claims experience. Experience in a customer service environment preferred.
Knowledge, Abilities & Skills
General knowledge of insurance theory and practices, contract application, property estimating, automated claims systems, investigation, consultation, settlement activities. Analytical and problem‑solving skills. Ability to assess repairs and cost estimates. Organizational skills, communication skills, and proficiency with computer and claims software. Ability to access and inspect rooftops using ladder to up to 8/12 pitch. Leadership ability to support less experienced associates.

Normal office or field claims environment. May require ability to sit, operate phone and computer, inspect property sites, climb ladders up to 8/12 pitch, work outside in all weather, irregular hours, travel including overnight, on‑call, and CAT. Must have valid driver license.
