Job Description Summary
The Behavior Therapist II assists the Coordinator/Supervisor, the clients and their families in progress toward specific goals by working one-on-one with the student. This person works cohesively with the administrative and clinical team involved with the client’s treatment plan. Behavior Therapist II leads a small team of providers both working directly with clients and providing weekly supervision to BT-I and IMP-I colleagues. Behavior Therapist II will conduct extensive data collection of the client’s progress. Behavior Therapist II provides services to individuals impacted by a variety of behavioral health (addiction/substance use and mental health) issues, recognizing that the individuals we serve often times have experienced trauma that affects their development and adjustment. Behavior Therapist II demonstrates a warm and welcoming empathic, hopeful attitude, conveying a philosophy of dual recovery. Behavior Therapist II will be trained in trauma-informed care and will work to help provide services in an environment that is sensitive and responsive which will prevent victimization, abuse, or trauma as a result of the care received. Behavior Therapist II reports to Autism Supervisor and Clinical Director of the Bill & Virginia Leffen Center for Autism.

Education

A graduate from an accredited four (4) year college or university,

OR High School Diploma or GED with being three semesters within completion of receiving a BCaBA certification.

Work Experiences

One (1) year of experience working as a Registered Behavior Technician with children on the autism spectrum.

Responsibilities

Performing intensive interventions with children with autism within the methodology of Applied Behavior Analysis.

Assisting in the creation, Implementation, and teaching of plans to reduce challenging behavior.

Receiving weekly or bi-monthly supervision.

Collecting and maintaining data.

Report writing as required.

Providing weekly intervention to all clients assigned to the treatment team.

Provide weekly consultation to all providers assigned to the treatment team.

Assist with Weekly schedule development weekly.

Assist in coordinating and performing new hire training.

Completing billing forms/documentation as required.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

Typical physical demands include prolonged sitting, frequent standing, bending, stooping, and occasional team lifting to 200 pounds.

Requires normal range of hearing and manual dexterity sufficient to operate keyboard, telephone, photocopier, calculator, and other office equipment as needed.

Requires ability to work under stressful conditions and to work irregular hours and deal with irate individuals.

May require evening and weekend hours.

TB test upon hire.
