
CNC Machinist (Mill and Lathe)

We are partnering with a well‑established machine shop in NW Houston to hire an experienced CNC Machinist. This is a hands‑on role responsible for programming, setup, and operation of both CNC mills and lathes. This is not an operator‑only position: we are seeking someone who can take a job from print to finished part.

Responsibilities
Program, set up, and operate CNC mills and lathes
Work on equipment including Haas VF-5 (vertical mill) and Weiler lathe
Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Set tooling, offsets, and adjust machines for optimal performance
Produce precision parts while maintaining tight tolerances
Perform quality checks using precision measuring tools
Troubleshoot machining, tooling, or program issues
Operate both CNC and manual machines as needed
Qualifications
Minimum 3+ years of CNC machining experience
Experience with both mill and lathe programming and operation
Strong blueprint reading skills
Experience with machine setup and adjustments
Problem‑solving mindset with ability to work independently
Experience using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
Schedule
Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM
Fridays may be shorter depending on workload
Saturdays as needed
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive hourly pay based on experience (open above current operator range of $33–34/hr)
401(k) with 4% match
