
Laboratory Technician

Description
The Laboratory Technician will work under the direction of a technical staff member in Texas Process Innovation within the Texas Technology Department.
Technicians should be capable of working in a fast paced research environment, collaborate effectively on teams, possess data processing skills, and strong communication skills.
Responsibilities
Conducting technical experiments and projects
Following written experimental procedures
Leading and participating on multi-disciplinary teams
Developing hands‑on and in‑depth technical expertise
Working in a fast paced, results‑oriented team environment to assist in developing new technologies to provide solutions to customers' needs
Preparing and supporting experimental materials and techniques
Conducting scale‑up evaluations
Performing analytical measurements
Documenting experimental work and writing technical and invention reports
Working safely and promoting a safe work environment
Qualifications
Minimum of 4-year Degree in Scientific Field with laboratory courses. Must have General Chemistry and lab. Prefer Organic Chemistry and lab also.
Strong computing skills with basic competencies in Microsoft Suite of applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to work independently in a laboratory setting
Problem solving, math and science skills and familiarity with statistical methodology.
Clear and effective written and oral communication is essential.
