NaphCare is hiring a
Behavioral Health Director
to join our team of medical and mental health professionals at the William C. Holman Correctional Facility in Atmore, Alabama. In this role, you will work alongside correctional officers and other healthcare staff to ensure regulatory compliance, manage budgets, supervise multidisciplinary clinical staff, develop community partnerships, and deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care in a secure setting.

Responsibilities
Define department goals, develop policies, and oversee daily operations to improve mental health services.
Oversee treatment services, ensuring adherence to evidence‑based practices and high standards of care.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, investigate critical incidents, and manage risks.
Direct recruitment, hiring, training, and performance evaluation of clinical staff (social workers, counselors, therapists).
Prepare, manage, and oversee the department budget and ensure financial viability.
Collaborate with medical, mental health, and correctional staff to enhance quality patient care while maintaining safety.
Monitor compliance with site‑specific and company policies and procedures, take corrective action, and ensure compliance with ACA, NCCHC standards.
Qualifications
A master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field.
Active, unrestricted licensure in Alabama (LCSW, LCMHC, LMFT, LMHP, LISW, etc.).
Active BLS CPR certification (American Heart Association preferred).
Minimum of 5 + years of progressive experience in behavioral health, including clinical and administrative leadership in a mental health or acute care setting, with correctional healthcare experience preferred.
Strong leadership, budgetary analysis, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Effective communication skills for building patient rapport and relaying treatment plans with other professionals.
Strong organizational skills for tracking patient treatment plans and progress notes.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of proprietary and confidential information and adhere to a code of conduct and facility policies.
Must pass facility criminal background check and drug screening.
