
Rigging Planner - Production Control - SUBASE

Overview
This position supports the NSSF SUBASE NEMMI contract by ordering materials and managing inventory required to perform Fast Attack Submarine IMA level maintenance. The role requires a background in Virginia and Los Angeles class submarine maintenance, overhaul and repair, with experience reading technical manuals, military specifications, blueprints, computer‑aided drawings, and technical work documents. The candidate will be responsible for ordering shop materials when needed and must have detailed knowledge in Weight Test, Rigging, and Upholstery. A DOD Secret Security Clearance must be obtained and maintained.
Qualifications
Required
High School Diploma or GED
3+ years of work experience related to submarine maintenance, overhaul, and repair
Preferred
Previous experience with planning and/or rigging and weight test
Experience with NSSF parts and material ordering systems
Experience with GCPCs and other Navy ordering methodologies
Prior JFMM experience
Experience with US Navy Supply System
Weight Test experience
Chain fall repair
3M maintenance (SKED) NSSF's maintenance program
Experience with NSSF's Production Control Database (WISP)
QA Craftsman Qualified
RPPO Qualified
HAZMAT/HAZWASTE Qualified
Skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable interacting with all levels of management including Ship's Force and NSSF Command leadership
Highly organized individual who can manage their own responsibilities
Experience with Microsoft Office
