Systems Engineer – Level 4
Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer – Level 4 to join the Launch Systems business unit at our Chandler, AZ facility. The role will develop and deploy a proliferated Low Earth Orbit constellation of interceptors, integrating with Ground Control, Fire Control, and Data Transport Systems.
Location & Travel
On-site at Chandler, AZ. Travel may be required as needed. Relocation assistance may be available. Clearance required for start: No. Clearance type: None.
Responsibilities
Develop, decompose, refine, and document key requirements and capabilities.
Support overall system-level end-to-end performance assessments and lead resolution of performance gaps.
Collaborate with systems engineers and other disciplines to support development of deliverables.
Generate and document system-level requirements; perform vehicle performance assessments; participate in system-level verification/data review activities.
Manage requirement changes in the Requirements Management database with IPT leaders and team members.
Create and manage specification/interface definition documents; coordinate peer review and signature approval.
Support risk management, including identification of potential risks.
Manage aspects of system design, analyses, interface verification, testing, failure/anomaly resolution, and mission operations.
Participate in creation and/or management of changes to system or subsystem analytical models.
Apply Agile principles and facilitate an agile development process.
Lead or support the development and execution of program technical reviews.
Qualifications
Minimum Education : Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
Basic Qualifications :
8 years of experience with a BS; 6 years with a Master’s; 4 years with a PhD.
U.S. citizenship.
Ability to work onsite.
Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
Ability to travel when required.
Preferred Qualifications :
Strong foundation in Systems Engineering fundamentals.
Experience in requirements decomposition, validation, and verification.
Clear communication of technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.
Experience working in an interceptor program.
Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience.
Experience with Cameo Systems Modeler.
Multi-Disciplinary Analysis and Optimization (MDAO) experience.
Familiarity with Agile engineering and Jira.
Autonomous task completion and strong resolve to drive tasks to completion.
Compensation & Schedule
Primary level salary range: $122,800.00 – $184,200.00.
Work schedule: 9/80 (9 hours per day Mon–Thu, 8 hours every other Friday, alternate Friday off).
