
Residential & Commercial Electrician (Lead)

We’re seeking a skilled Electrician who can deliver high-quality residential and commercial service work while helping build and grow a new service division in the DFW market. This role begins as a hands‑on field position and is designed to evolve into a lead or management role as the division expands.
We’re looking for someone who wants more than just a job – someone who takes ownership, thinks long‑term, and is motivated to help build and lead something from the ground up.
Duties & Responsibilities
Diagnoses, troubleshoot, and repair electrical issues in residential and commercial settings
Install electrical systems including panels, breakers, lighting, outlets, switches, and circuits
Perform panel upgrades, service upgrades, and remodel electrical work
Run and pull wire, bend conduit (EMT/PVC), and complete clean, code‑compliant installations
Read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
Test systems for safety and functionality
Communicate clearly with customers regarding issues and solutions
Complete service calls efficiently with high‑quality workmanship
Maintain job documentation, time tracking, and materials used
Ensure all work complies with NEC and local Texas codes
Participate in on‑call rotation as required
Help build and scale the DFW service division from the ground up
Contribute to service structure, workflows, and pricing strategies
Assist with tools, trucks, and materials setup
Support hiring, training, and mentoring of electricians and apprentices
Lead by example in quality, professionalism, and customer service
Help establish a culture of safety, accountability, and high standards
Identify growth opportunities (new services, customers, improvements)
Develop systems and processes to support long‑term scalability
Take ownership of results—not just assigned task
Required Skills/Qualifications
Valid Texas Journeyman or Residential Wireman License
Strong troubleshooting ability (non‑negotiable) & ability to work independently
Residential and/or commercial service experience
Solid NEC knowledge and safe work practices
Successful completion of a pre‑employment drug and alcohol test (required for safety‑sensitive roles)
Completion of a criminal background check, with results assessed based on relevance to the position
Verification of a clean driving record, as defined by Control Tech’s standards (e.g., no major violations, no more than 3 infractions in the past 5 years)
Leadership Mindset & Preferred Skills
Demonstrates strong ownership—approaches work with an entrepreneurial mindset, treating responsibilities as if managing their own business
Strong work ethic; leads by example
Willing to train and mentor others
Motivated to grow into leadership
Service‑based electrical experience
Team leadership or apprentice mentoring
Familiar with Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, etc.
Experience with generators, EV chargers, or smart home installs
OSHA 10 or 30
