Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Support multiple NPI and CPI programs through complete design and development of mechanical light-fabrication systems. Perform packaging and integration activities with various vehicle sub-systems.
Contribute to the design and development of light-fabricated components, including sheet-metal parts and castings.
Develop and maintain 2D and 3D CAD models to support design, prototype, and production phases.
Support DfX, FMEA, and DVP&R activities throughout all development phases.
Support engineering change management processes, including documentation control and release workflows.
Apply and follow CAT standards, engineering guidelines, and best practices in all design work. Drive cross-functional alignment by collaborating with manufacturing, quality, CAE/testing teams, suppliers, and other engineering groups.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience
4+ years of experience in mechanical engineering and design development in Heavy equipment products
Experience supporting NPI and/or CPI engineering programs.
Hands-on experience designing sheet-metal, welded, and light-fabricated components.
Experience with vehicle-level system packaging and integration.
Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD modeling tools (Creo and Team center).
Experience with DfX, FMEA, and DVP&R processes and Familiarity with engineering documentation control and change management systems.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Strong understanding of mechanical design fundamentals, GD&T, and manufacturing processes.
Knowledge of light-fabrication processes such as sheet-metal forming, casting, and welding.
Knowledge of CAT standards, industry guidelines, and design best practices.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
