Senior Surveyor | Nashua, NH
IMEG is hiring a Senior Surveyor in Nashua, NH, to provide leadership in the daily operations of survey activities including construction layout, boundary, topographic, and as-built surveys. In this role, you’ll provide production surveying duties, apply diversified knowledge of principles and practices in areas of land surveying related fields, and provide surveying assistance under leadership from a Senior Land Surveyor. You’ll also be responsible for calculations and surveying judgment based on surveying experience, documented practices, systems, and examples while ensuring work follows company and jurisdictional standards and all quality assurance steps.
Responsibilities
Schedule, oversee, and perform complex survey duties associated with construction stakeout and boundary, topographic, and as-built surveys
Research and interpret historic maps, land records, previous surveys, and land title reports
Schedule, oversee, and perform complete boundary reductions, boundary determinations, and mapping/topographic field reductions in CAD/survey software
Oversee, manage, maintain, and verify accuracy of project survey data and the survey database to assure it adheres to all company and industry standards for quality control
Final review and verify accuracy of project survey data and the survey database to assure it adheres to all company and industry standards for quality control
Final review, quality checks, supervision, and signing of completed surveys and survey plats
Advance the professional and productive working relationships with all clients and coworkers
Prepare proposals, scopes of work, schedules, budgets, and be responsible to meet staffing and financial performance metrics, including overall team results
Mentor and assist in training junior staff members
Operate a company vehicle
Observe safety and security procedures
Required Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor of Science (BS) or Associate Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required
12 years of experience minimum required, 16 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry preferred
Land Surveyor (LS) License required
Advanced knowledge of land surveying operations, computations, principles and practices
Expert proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering plans and construction documents
Expert knowledge and ability to effectively deal with public, governmental agencies, staff, equipment and supplies
Proficient in on-site office operation, office workflow processes and problem-solving techniques
Expert understanding of survey operations and identification of potential problems
Proficient with AutoCAD C3D, Carlson Survey, GPS, financial and production software
Advanced problem-solving techniques
Proven effective people management and leadership capabilities of individuals and an overall team environment
Possesses oral and written communication skills
Ability to effectively communicate with clients, officials, contractors, coworkers and professionally represent IMEG
Valid driver’s license with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier; must consent to a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background check
Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to travel with occasional overnight stays
