The Nursing Manager is responsible for the direct clinical and administrative oversight of the assigned unit(s). This position provides supervision of nursing staff for the provision of a nursing process that assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates a comprehensive nursing care plan. Participates in staff development and performance improvement activities as assigned. Initiates, participates and fosters interdisciplinary team to facilitate the best patient experience and positive clinical outcome.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
Graduate from an accredited college or university preferred.
Experience
A minimum of three years of experience as a staff Registered Nurse in a psychiatric setting is required.
An additional two to three years’ leadership experience preferred.
Licenses/Certifications
Must hold a current License as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment.
Specialty certification preferred.
Must be CPR certified at the time of commencing employment.
Key Responsibilities
Orchestrates nursing care delivery, overseeing licensed nurses and assistants for designated units. Manages assignments, documentation, and therapeutic environments.
Manages staffing, schedules, and resources, fostering collaboration among departments, patients, and families.
Directly supervises unit service, motivating staff, facilitating conflict resolution, and conducting training-focused staff meetings.
Assesses staff via performance tools, generates healthcare reports, and formulates action plans based on collected data.
Ensures safety, pursues professional development, advocates teamwork, and recommends innovative solutions for organizational advancement.
