Optical Lab Technician (Edging Lab – Experience Required)
Compensation: $22–$30/hour (based on experience)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Optical Lab Technician to manage a high-volume in-house edging lab. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience with tracers, edging systems, tint, as well as a strong understanding of lens materials and coatings and can operate independently while maintaining speed, accuracy, and consistency.

Responsibilities
Operate Mr. Orange and Neksia edging systems and tracers efficiently in a high‑volume environment
Edge, mount, and finish lenses for all frame types (full rim, drill mount, rimless)
Ensure accuracy of all jobs (PD, axis, seg height, lens orientation, etc.)
Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and perform routine maintenance
Maintain consistent turnaround times while upholding quality standards
Organize and prioritize daily lab workload
Communicate with optical staff to resolve job issues quicklyTrack and manage lab supplies (blocking pads, tools, repair supplies, screws, nosepads, etc.)
Requirements
3+ years optical lab experience (high‑volume preferred)
Direct experience with Neksia and/or Mr. Orange systems strongly preferred
Direct experience with Essibox and VisionWeb systems strongly preferred
Strong understanding of lens types, coatings, and frame styles
Experience with drill mounts and specialty jobs
High attention to detail and quality control
Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently and stay organized under pressure
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a multi-location or high‑production optical environment
Familiarity with digital lab workflows (.OMA file transfer, remote tracing, etc.)
Process improvement mindset
