Position
Kean Miller is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary in our Shreveport office. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support attorneys across various practice areas, including oil and gas transactional matters, general business, real estate, and litigation. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and possess a strong passion for administrative excellence. Candidate must also have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Responsibilities
Draft, proofread, and review legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, memos, and correspondence
Organize and manage large volumes of legal documents while ensuring compliance with confidentiality standards
Transcribe dictation
E-File court filings
Maintain attorney calendars
Arrange meetings and conference calls
Open new client files
Run conflict checks
Input time into billing software
Edit bills
Process check request and expense reports
Close files
Coordinate and prepare real estate closing documents for review by attorneys (i.e., escrow instructions, deeds, easements, owner’s affidavits, closing certificates, entitlements, and statements)
Technical Requirements
Technological proficiency in software including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Adobe
Familiar with, or has the ability to become highly proficient in, technology for timekeeping, billing, redline or a track changes document software and document management systems.
