Responsibilities
Provide nursing care to patients on the Neurology 8E unit using the nursing process. Maintain patient rights and confidentiality. Coordinate patient care with other departments and interdisciplinary teams. Ensure professional accountability in the provision of patient care and evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Perform duties in alignment with Mercy’s mission, values, and service standards.
Schedule & Location
Schedule: Full-Time | 36 hours/week
Shift: Day Shift | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Compensation & Benefits
Sign-On Bonus:
Experienced Nurses: Up to $10,000
New Graduate Nurses (less than 1 year of experience): Up to $5,000

The Unit – Neurology (8E)
Neurology 8E cares for patients with acute and chronic neurological conditions such as strokes, seizures, brain tumors, and brain bleeds. The unit supports complex neuro assessments, safety-focused care, and close collaboration with therapy and neurology teams.
Qualifications
Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following:
Associate Degree in Nursing
Nursing Diploma
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Licensure:
Must hold and maintain a current RN license in Missouri or possess compact licensure, per state board of nursing regulations.
Experience:
Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit.
Certifications:
Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: BSN preferred
Licensure: Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred
Experience: Prior experience in a specialty area or similar clinical setting
Physical Requirements
Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift
Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
