
GMP Manufacturing Tech

Opportunity for a GMP Manufacturing Technician in the Carolina Cord Blood Bank (CCBB) at Duke University's Marcus Center for Cellular Cures (MC3).
Work Schedule
Tues-Fri, 10:30 am – 7:00 pm; Sat 8:30 am – 5:00 pm (on‑site).
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Up to two years of laboratory experience in a GMP/regulated environment; a related master’s degree may substitute.
Work Performed
Execute standard operating procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing licensed DUCORD products and other hematopoietic cellular products, including bone marrow and peripheral blood stem cells, under cGMP guidelines.
Operate manual and automatic instrumentation: cell separators, counters, centrifuges, incubators, pipettes, LN₂ freezers, and biological safety cabinets while employing aseptic technique.
Accurately complete batch record documentation, equipment logs, and participate in proficiency testing surveys.
Maintain donor confidentiality and laboratory safety, infection control, and universal precautions.
Collaborate with the Lab Manager, other CCBB technicians, and Quality Systems Unit to ensure regulatory compliance and readiness for inspections.
Manage laboratory inventory, maintain equipment, and assist with lab inspections as needed.
Attend routine laboratory and departmental meetings, complete required training, competency assessments, and continuing education hours.
Perform other related duties as incidental to the work described.

USD 22.61 – 40.70 per year (annual base salary).
