Overview

The Nevada Secretary of State Office – Securities Division is seeking a Legal Secretary II in Las Vegas. Legal Secretaries perform specialized secretarial duties for attorneys, administrative law judges, and/or hearings/appeals officers including preparing legal documents and correspondence; calendaring; maintaining records; and providing assistance on routine problems and inquiries which are not of a legal nature. This position will provide support within the Securities Division and perform specialized, project and case management duties for attorneys, the executive team, and other staff within the Securities Division to include, but not limited to, conducting research; preparing administrative, civil, legal and general documents, pleadings, and published materials; calendaring; maintaining records; assisting on legal argument preparation for all courts, bodies, and other entities; and assisting with problems and inquiries which are of a legal and general nature. Legal Secretaries provide skilled legal clerical support with clear understanding of confidential information.
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of clerical experience, two of which were performing progressively responsible legal secretarial work in a training capacity; OR one year of experience as a Legal Secretary I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
