Job Description
As a Diesel Mechanic at WM, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing diesel equipment and trucks, maintaining quality service, ensuring safety, documenting repairs, assisting senior mechanics, and complying with OSHA standards.

Hours & Location
Schedule: Monday – Friday every week, alternating Saturdays
Shift: 4:45 am – 2:45 pm
Location: Repair / maintenance shop at Medley, FL hauling site
Responsibilities
Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts.
Perform work within our Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
Conduct safety checks on vehicles; safety is our number one priority.
Complete required paperwork, documenting part usage, and accounting for repair times.
Assist senior mechanics in the completion of project work.
Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
Minimum Education Required
High School / GED

2 years of relevant work experience
A valid driver’s license, with a clean driving record
Be over 18 years of age
Legally eligible to work in the United States
Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations
Successfully complete and pass pre‑employment drug screen and physical
