Master Electrician – Martin Correctional Institution

Job Duties
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on electrical systems, ensuring proper operation.
Conduct tests, maintain logs, and keep records for equipment per Department guidelines.
Install, alter, repair, or replace electrical infrastructure, lighting systems, motors, motor starters, transformers, circuit breaker panels, and related electrical distribution up to 600 volts.
Follow local, state, and federal codes as well as safety and security procedures; plan and organize work, requisitioning necessary parts.
Prepare reports and supervise inmates, preparing their progress reports; participate in departmental training and perform related duties as required.

Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent plus one year of experience in the electrical/electrician field, or four or more years of experience; college or vocational/technical training in the trade may substitute for required experience.
