
Adjunct Faculty: Astronomy & Physics

Job Description

Work Hours
Teach day and/or evening classes at Greeley campus or satellite campuses in Loveland and Fort Lupton.
Job Duties
Instruct assignments which may include a variety of courses in Astronomy, Geology, or Physics depending on the candidate’s area of expertise.
Participate in ongoing professional development.
Work collaboratively with full‑time faculty that are course captains for the courses assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Chair and the Academic Dean.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in astronomy, physics, astrophysics, engineering, or a closely related discipline. The master’s degree must show at least 12 credit hours in content‑specific graduate‑level courses.
Alternatively, a master’s degree including 18 graduate‑level credit hours in astronomy and/or physics, with no more than six of those credit hours being general science courses.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous college teaching experience.
Compensation
Based on course content, wages will range from $1,297.00 per credit to $3,753.00 per credit. In certain instances, due to low enrollment, faculty payment will be based on part‑time per‑credit pay, pro‑rated on a 10% per student basis.
Benefits
Part‑time employees also receive some benefits depending on the number of hours worked.
