Job Summary
The Shipping & Receiving Lead is responsible for overseeing daily dock operations, ensuring the accurate and timely shipment and receipt of goods. This role includes hands‑on involvement in loading/unloading palletized products, inventory control, and maintaining compliance with quality and food safety standards, including freezer storage operations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily shipping and receiving operations, including loading and unloading trucks
Verify incoming and outgoing shipments, including Bills of Lading (BOLs) and related documentation
Prepare and maintain all shipping and receiving records and paperwork
Coordinate dock scheduling, traffic flow, and shipment timelines
Operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts, as well as pallet jacks
Maintain compliance with quality, food safety, and operational standards
Enter and track shipping data in internal systems; communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners
Collaborate with production, inventory, and quality teams to support overall operations
Monitor inventory accuracy and shipping efficiency within the department
Investigate and resolve discrepancies in shipments or inventory
Enforce company policies, procedures, and safety regulations
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in shipping and receiving or warehouse operations
Experience operating both stand-up and sit-down forklifts (required)
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Solid problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer systems
Strong organizational, planning, and multitasking skills
Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment with limited supervision
High school diploma or equivalent
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Ability to work in cold storage/freezer and high‑noise manufacturing environments
Frequent standing, bending, and stooping throughout the shiftAbility to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
Capable of performing repetitive tasks for extended periods
Must be able to work extended hours, including overtime and weekends as needed
