This Skillbridge Internship will focus in our Training Development Area and seeking interns who are interested in continuing to train and learn in the Armored Ground Vehicles function.

Eligibility and Program Details

GDLS is a proud and approved DoD SkillBridge Industry Partner. SkillBridge is an excellent opportunity for transitioning service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through an internship during their last six months of service for up to 180 days.

You may be eligible to participate if you:

Have 180 days of service or fewer remaining prior to your discharge date and at least 180 consecutive days of active service.

Obtain written authorization and approval from your unit commander to participate in the DoD SkillBridge Program prior to the start of the internship.

Will receive an honorable discharge.

Have taken any service TAPS/TGPS.

Agree that participation in SkillBridge can be terminated at any time by the service if mission requirements dictate.

Our 90 to 180-day internship assignments provide real-world exposure to day-to-day activities in departments and hands-on training opportunities to re-skill and up-skill. Participants are not eligible for compensation from GDLS, as they continue to receive DoD compensation and benefits as active-duty service members. Service members receive supervision and mentorship from experienced professionals in respective fields and are included as part of the team within the department.

Training Development Specialist

Objective
For this SkillBridge Internship program, participants will receive on-the-job training and job-shadowing opportunities in our Training Development area.

If you are an Abrams or Bradley Master Gunner who is eligible for a SkillBridge Internship, we would love to hear from you.

Location and Timing
This internship will be located at our Sterling Heights, Michigan complex and will be 100% in person.

Program Experience
This program provides a comprehensive internship experience including professional development, mentoring, networking with leadership, and training focused on GDLS leadership expectations, company history, customer/stakeholder engagement, product and service overview, and core job responsibilities.

Goal
Offer transitioning service members a rewarding opportunity to learn from the General Dynamics Land Systems team.
