Overview
The TORUS research programme is an EPSRC‑funded project that aims to improve the measurement of Parkinson’s symptoms, enabling better assessment of treatment efficacy. The project has developed a sensor platform installed at the SPHERE house and will be deployed in patients’ homes.

Responsibilities

Plan and carry out sensor and networking equipment installations in patients’ homes across Bristol.

Provide technical support and troubleshoot to keep installed systems operational.

Identify potential improvements in data collection with the research team.

Support lab activities: procure equipment, manage technical resources, monitor health and safety.

Document technical processes and maintenance procedures.

Qualifications

Experience installing IT equipment and delivering customer service.

Understanding of programming languages (Java, JavaScript, JSON, Python, HTML/CSS, XML, Bash, C/C++, Node.js).

Experience in network administration: setting up access points, configuring wireless access for PCs and other devices.

Ability to undertake structured cable installations and troubleshoot network connectivity issues.

Contract
Open‑ended with fixed funding until 31/05/2028. Part‑time 17.5 hours per week. Grade H. Salary £35,608–£39,906 per annum pro rata.
