ROLE OVERVIEW
This is a seasonal position; you can use your winters off to travel, hunt, fish, or other activities you enjoy while your benefits continue year round.
As a Distributor Operator, you are responsible for safely operating and driving a truck equipped with a tank to spray oil or bituminous emulsions on road surfaces. Perform daily inspections and maintenance on oil trucks, ensuring safe operation and proper upkeep. Operate trucks equipped with oil or bituminous emulsions, connecting hoses, regulating burners, and driving at constant speeds. Complete load tickets, assist construction crews, maintain truck information, manage inventory, clean nozzles, and barricade parking lots.
DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform daily equipment, walk‑around, and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained.
Safely and properly perform maintenance (lubricating, fueling, and cleaning) on an oil truck.
Safely and properly operate a truck equipped with oil or bituminous emulsions.
Connect hoses from the storage tank to the truck tank and move the lever to fill the pressure tank with bituminous liquid.
Regulate the burner to heat the liquid and start the auxiliary pump.
Drive the truck at a constant speed.
Complete load tickets.
Assist construction crews while waiting to unload.
Maintain proper information in the truck cabin pouch.
Inventory and order tac.
Cleans tac nozzles.
Barricade commercial parking lots.
Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written); self‑motivated, team‑player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others.
Troubleshoot and problem‑solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.). Monitor and discuss production problems with co‑workers and managers/supervisors.
Ensure OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety, and environmental regulation compliance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Ability to hold and maintain a Class A or B CDL license in accordance with all state and federal DOT/FMCSA regulations.
Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime and some Saturdays.
