
I&E - Instrumentation and Electrical Technician

Position Overview
The Instrumentation and Electrical Technician at the Verdigris Plant is a safety sensitive position that is responsible for the safe installation, operation, and maintenance of instruments, automation systems, and electrical distribution systems. This job involves quickly solving problems before they get bigger to keep the plant running smoothly. You will report to the Supervisor of (I&E) and belong to the Instrumentation and Electrical team and work onsite.
Responsibilities
Uphold safety standards and participate in safety programs.
Calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of electronic instruments and control systems throughout the plant.
Improve safety and efficiency by tuning control loops and maintaining valves and actuators.
Maintain and install electrical systems and motors, handling voltages up to 4160 VAC.
Participate in HAZOPs, change management, and procurement for I & E infrastructure maintenance and design.
Support the implementation and documentation of projects across the plant.
Accomplish additional tasks as directed by management.
Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED; post‑secondary technical education is advantageous (Instrumentation).
Two years of relevant experience in process instrumentation and control systems.
Understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Familiarity with HART instrumentation, DCS, and BMS is beneficial.
Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 100 lbs occasionally.
Perform tasks involving valves, controls, and various equipment.
Work in environments with extreme temperatures, vibrations, and limited ventilation.
Exposure to noise, moving parts, electrical currents, steam, and working at heights.
Handle chemicals, fumes, and oils safely.
Use a respirator and emergency equipment during emergencies.
